Spotlight: Entrepreneurs Color Too!
We all have that one coworker who makes us say a prayer to God before talking to them – hoping our tongues don’t slip and they end up hearing how we really feel. This made me realize how important it is to de-stress after a long day at work. I started looking for something to take my mind off things and came across Entrepreneurs Color Too!
It’s a series of coloring books created by Latoya Nicole that highlight the beauty of women of color. Each book is significant on it’s own. From showing love to HBCU’s to 80’s ladies rocking door knocker earrings to working professionals in the classroom.
After going through all four, I decided to purchase 24 Shades of Business. It was refreshing to color an attorney rocking a TWA (teeny weeney afro) and a therapist with a high puff. They’re all different styles I can relate to.
Time and time again we talk about the importance of representation. Young girls coloring this book can potentially see themselves as that attorney or therapist. It’s products like this that can spark inspiration and start a dream.
I used colored pencils which I didn’t like because the color came out faint so next time I’ll use markers or crayons.
