Dots N’ Things

This smile? The result of an impromptu shopping trip.

I stopped by Nordstrom’s NYC flagship store a few weeks ago to see what they have. If you’ve never been there, there’s floors of designer labels accompanied with a restaurant and bar. My main stop was the top floor where they have Topshop. It fits well and they launch various designs so I usually find something I like.

While ripping through the sale rack, I stumbled across this mint green coat. It was the last one and in my size. I was like, “this can’t be!” Instead of paying the full retail price of $95, I paid $63. Can we say, yesss!

Another win was this ASOS polkadot dress. Listen, if you have time, this online retailer has great items for cheap. And now with the addition of customer reviews to their website, you can see if something is worth buying.

This dress in particular had terrible reviews. People said it fits like a trash bag and even the smallest size is huge. I mean, it is advertised as an oversized shirt dress, so for $13, I decided to buy it and pair it with a skinny black belt. Having a good belt will cinch the waist of a dress with no problem.

Fashion takes inspiration.

Sometimes it’s not about taking a garment at face value, but looking at it’s potential.

Also, these heels were a great buy! It’s made of this silver metallic textile that screams expensive. It reminds me of something I would see in J. Crew.
